국내 게임업계가 최근 정bybit부 규제 움직임과 맞물려 ‘확률형 아이템’ 중심의 수익모델에서 탈피하려는 모습을 보이고 있어 그 결과가 주목된다.
최근 공정거래위원회가 확률형 아이템 관련 정보를 조작했다는 이유로 게임업체 넥슨에 대한 제재 절차를 착수한 가운데 법무부와 국회도 아이템 확률 정보공개 의무화를 위한 입법 조치에 속도를 내고 있다. 그동안 게임업계는 아이템의 확률 정보를 자율적으로 공개하고 있다고 주장하며 게임 내 확률형 아이템을 지속적으로 운영해왔다. 그러다 최근 규제 압력이 심해지자 일부 게임사들이 올해 신작에 확률형 아이템을 배제하려는 움직임이 감지되고 있는 것이다.
확률형 아이템은 게임 이용자가 게임 내에서 유료 결제를 하면 게임사가 정한 확률에 따라 무작위로 제공되는 일종의 ‘뽑기’형 아이템이다. 게임 이용자들이 선호하는 아이템을 얻기. 위해 여러 차례 뽑기에 임하는 경우가 많아 사행성 논란이 일어왔다. 또 게임사의 확률 정보 공개가 투명하지 않다는 지적도 꾸준히 제기돼 왔다.
넥슨은 지난 12일 출시한 레이싱 게임 ‘카트라이더 드리프트’에 확률형 아이템을 선보이지 않겠다고 밝혔다. 대신 게임 내에서 ‘꾸미기’가 가능한 치장용 아이템만 운영한다고 설명했다.
넥슨의 레이싱 게임 전작 ‘크레이지레이싱 카트라이더’에서는 주행 성능을 비약적으로 높일 수 있는 확률형 아이템이 거래돼 왔다. 당시 일부 게이머들은 확률형 아이템이 전형적인 ‘페이 투 윈(pay to win‧돈을 지불할수록 승률이 높아지는 구조)’이라며 비판의 목소리를 높인 바 있다. 이 같은 반발 기류를 인식한 듯 넥슨은 현재 준비 중인 또 다른 신작 ‘퍼스트 디센던트’에 확률형 아이템 요소를 도입하지 않겠다고 공지했다.
그라비트가 지난 5일 출시한 ‘라그나 중에서는 드물게 확률형 아이템 거래를 전면 배제했다. 엔씨소프트가 이르면 오는 2분기 신작 ‘쓰론 앤 리버티(TL)’를 출시할 예정인 가운데 업계에선 엔씨소프트가 확률형 아이템 위주의 운영 방식보다는 이용자 친화적인 수익모델을 보여줄 것으로 예상하고 있다.
게임업계가 이처럼 확률형 아이템과 거리를 두는 이유는 지난해부터 본격화한 정부 및 국회 움직임과 무관치 않다. 공정거래위원회의 경우 넥슨을 상대로 롤플레잉게임(RPG) ‘메이플스토리’ 등을 운영하면서 확률형 아이템의 확률 정보를 이용자에게
국회에서도 건전한 게임문화 조성과 이용자 알권리 보장 등을 앞세워 확률형 아이템 규제 입법을 벼르고 있다. 게임사가 잘못된 확률형 아이템 정보로 이용자를 기망할 경우 문화체육관광부에 조사권을 부여하고 행정벌을 부과하는 방식 등이다.
이에 대해 게임업계는 ‘자율규제’가 시행된 이래 게임사들이 자발적으로 확률형 아이템의 정보를 공개하고 있다며 정부와 국회의 동시다발적 규제가 시장에 상당한 충격을 줄 수 있다고 염려하고 있다.
게임업계 관계자는 “주요 게임사들은 이미 아이템의 확률을 모두 공개하고 있다”며 “이미 자율규제를 통해 지켜지고 있는데 법적으로 강제하는 ] 대해 부담을 느끼고 있다”고 전했다. 이재홍 한국게임정책학회장은 “게임이 정액제에서 부분 유료화로 바뀌면서 등장한 것이 확률형 아이템”이라며 “한편으로 확률형 아이템 모델이 국내 게임 산업이 20조원 시장으로 성장하는데 기여한 것도 사실”이라고 말했다.
이용자 친화적 모델을 운용 중인 업계의 노력 역시 간과해서는 안 된다는 목소리도 크다. 대표적으로 넥슨은 지난 2015년 메이플스토리 무과금 전용 서버인 ‘리부트 월드’를 개발했다. 여기에선 게임자 간 아이템 금전 거래를 할 수 없고, 강화 아이템을 현금으로 살 수 없는 것이 특징이다. 한 게임업계 관계자는 “해외 메이플스토리에서는 전체 이용자의 절반 이상이 리부트 월드 서버를 이용한데 반해 국내에서 이 서버의 이용률은 10% 수준에 그쳤다”며 “무과금 서버를 이용했다면 금전전 손해도 발생하지 않았을 것”이라고 주장했다.
사회관계망서비스 트위터에 윤석열 대통령과 김건희 여사를 살해하겠다고 협박한 남성이 검찰에 송치됐다.
26일 경찰에 따르면 서울 양천경찰서는 지난해 12월 협박 혐의로 40대 남성 A씨를 검찰에 불구속 송치했다.
A씨는 지난해 8월 20일 ‘무능한 윤석열, 김건희, 목을 베어 참수’라는 내용의 글을 올렸다.
A씨는 김건희 여사의 사진을 올리며 ‘차라리 자살하라. 제2의 아베신조되기 싫다면 정숙 조용히 살기를 그러다 너도 박정희, 아베신조처럼 총 맞는다’ 등의 글도 게시했다.
이어 8월 22일엔 ‘8월 29일이 윤석열, 김건희, 한동훈, 권성동, 주호영, 주낙영 사망일’이란 글을 올리며 여권 인사들에 대한 테러를 예고하기도 했다. 현재 트위터에서 A씨의 계정은 확인되지 않고 있다.
경찰은 지난해 8월 25일 국가정보원으로부터 윤 대통령 등에 대한 ‘테러 시도’ 트위터 게시글이 있다는 신고를 받아 내사에 착수했다.
선본 네트워크 테크놀로지의 모바일 게임 '소녀전선: 뉴럴 클라우드'에서 차별 논란이 일고 있다. 뉴럴 클라우드는 2021년 9월 중국에서 서비스를 시작했으며, 지난 11월 한국, 대만, 일본, 글로벌 서버의 서비스를 시작했다. 뉴럴 클라우드 게임 이용자들은 개발사가 자국 서버인 중국 서버만 우대하며 해외 서버를 차별하고 있다고 주장하고 나섰다.
이용자들이 가장 항의하는 부분은 '고장 협의'라는 콘텐츠가 중국 외의 해외 서버에 도입되지 않고 있는 부분이다. 고장 협의는 게임의 유료 재화인 ‘석영 가루’, 캐릭터 육성에 필수적인 ‘마인드맵 파편’ 등 중요한 인게임 재화를 일정 주기마다 얻을 수 있는 콘텐츠다.
중국 서버는 출시와 함께 해당 콘텐츠가 출시 되었지만, 그 외의 서버에는 출시 한 달째 추가되고 있지 않아 많은 이용자가 불만을 터뜨리고 있다. 출시 이후 논란이 지속되자 개발사는 해외 서버에서도 곧 고장 협의 관련 소식을 접할 수 있게 될 것이라고 공지했지만, 구체적인 날짜는 명시하지 않아 이용자들의 불만은 더 커지고 있다.
한국을 포함해 글로벌 서버에 지급된 크리스마스 출석 이벤트의 보상이 중국 서버보다 적다는 점도 논란이 되었다. 중국 서버는 출석 이벤트 보상으로 다른 게임의 전투 입장권, 혹은 스태미나에 해당하는 아이템 ‘인증키 카드(대)’를 총 1050개 지급했지만, 글로벌 서버에는 총 450개를 지급했다. 게임 출시 날짜가 1년 정도 차이가 나기 때문에 보상이 완전히 같을 수는 없지만, 차별 논란이 지속되는 상황에서 중국 서버에 비해 적은 보상을 받게 되자 이용자들의 불만은 더욱 커졌다.
캐릭터 뽑기 부분에서도 논란이 있다. 개발사의 전작 ‘소녀전선’에서는 여자 캐릭터만 존재했지만, 이번 뉴럴 클라우드에는 남자 캐릭터도 존재해 중국서버에는 남자 캐릭터와 여자 캐릭터를 뽑을 수 있는 캐릭터 뽑기가 따로 존재했다. 주로 여자 캐릭터를 선호하는 남 성향 이용자들을 위한 조치다. 그런데 중국 외의 서버에서는 남자 캐릭터와 여자 캐릭터의 뽑기를 분리하지 않아 중국 서버와 동일하게 캐릭터 뽑기의 성별을 분리해 달라고 요구하는 이용자들이 나오고 있다.
차별 논란이 계속 불거져 나오자 이용자들은 개발사에 항의성 문의를 보내거나 앱 마켓에서 뉴럴 클라우드에 낮은 별점을 주는 등 적극적으로 불만을 표시하고 있다. 뉴럴 클라우드 공식 카페에도 "운영진이 귀를 닫고 이용자들을 무시하고 있다.", "중국 서버에서 수익이 나오지 않으니 다른 서버에서 수익을 내려는 것인가.", "일단 고장협의 콘텐츠를 빨리 추가해달라" 등의 게시물을 올리고 있다.
영어권 이용자들도 불만이다. 영어권 커뮤니티의 뉴럴 클라우드 게시판에는 한국 커뮤니티와 마찬가지로 ‘고장 협의’ 콘텐츠의 미출시, 캐릭터 뽑기와 보상에 대한 불만을 터뜨리며 글로벌 서버가 중국 서버와 차별받고 있다고 주장하는 게시글이 올라오고 있다. 한 이용자는 "우리는 뉴럴 클라우드 개발진에게 해외 서버를 공평하게 대하도록 요구해야 한다."라고 말하며 게임을 개선하기 위해 단체로 개발사에 항의성 메일을 보내자고 주장하는 글을 올렸다. 해당 게시글에는 110개 정도의 댓글이 달리며 활발하게 논의되고 있다.
뉴럴 클라우드는 테스트 기간과 출시 초기에는 높은 캐릭터 뽑기 확률, 낮은 천장 등의 요소가 호평을 받고 유료 재화도 풍부하게 제공하며 이용자들 사이에서 ‘혜자 게임’으로 불리기도 했지만 이번 차별 논란으로 출시 한달만에 악재를 만나게 되었다. 개발사 선본 네트워크가 이용자들의 불만사항에 어떻게 대응할지 주목된다.
해외에 서버를 두고 수십만 편의 성 영상물과 영화 등을 유포해 수억 원의 범죄 수익을 챙긴 일당이 경찰에 붙잡혔습니다.
전북경찰청 사이버범죄수사대는 정보통신망 상 음란물 유포, 저작권법 위반 등 혐의로 사이트 운영자 A 씨(40대) 등 2명을 구속하고 개발자 B 씨(20대)를 불구속해 조사 중이라고 28일 밝혔습니다.
A 씨 등은 2020년 1월부터 2년여간 해외 서버를 기반으로 한 불법 스트리밍 사이트 15곳을 운영하며 불법 성 영상물과 한국 드라마 및 영화 등 26만여 편의 콘텐츠를 무단 유포한 혐의를 받고 있습니다.
또 이 사이트에 도박사이트 광고를 게시하는 대가로 광고 수익 3억 7천여만 원의 부당 이득을 취한 혐의도 함께 받고 있습니다.
조사 결과 B 씨는 A 씨로부터 텔레그램을 통해 불법 웹사이트 제작을 의뢰받아 사이트를 구축하고 관리하는 대가로 2억 2천여만 원의 범죄수익을 챙긴 것으로 드러났습니다.
특히 이들은 수사기관의 추적을 피하고자 해외에 서버를 구축했고, 텔레그램을 통해서만 연락을 주고받는 등 치밀하게 관리·운영하며 해당 불법 사이트를 장기간 운영해왔던 것으로 확인됐습니다.
경찰은 지난해 6월부터 끈질긴 수사 끝에 A 씨 일당을 검거했습니다.
이들이 운영한 사이트 15곳은 모두 폐쇄 조치했습니다.
또 이들이 벌어들인 범죄 수익을 5억 9천만 원에 대해서는 기소 전 추징 보전을 신청했습니다.
경찰 관계자는 "이들의 주 수입원인 도박사이트 광고 스폰서에 대한 수사도 이어 나갈 예정"이라며 "불법 사이트로 인해 저작권이 침해당하거나 불법 영상물이 유포되지 않도록 최선을 다하겠다"고 밝혔습니다.
※ 기소 전 추징 보전 : '범죄수익은닉의 규제 및 처벌 등에 관한 법률'에 따라, 범죄 피의자들이 사건의 검찰 송치 후 재판 확정 때까지 장기간 소요됨을 악용해 재산을 은닉하거나 처분하지 못하도록 재범의지 봉쇄 등 범죄예방을 위한 취지로 진행하는 제도입니다.
최근 들어 보이스피싱 범죄가 기승을 부리고 있다. 넓은 의미에서는 피싱사기라고 표현 하는데 통상은 보이스피싱 범죄로 불리우기도 한다. 피싱이란 개인정보(Private data)와 낚는다(Fishing)의 합성어로, 피해자를 기망 또는 협박하여 개인정보 및 금융거래정보를 요구하거나 피해자에게 금전을 이체하도록 하는 수법으로 그 중 보이스피싱은 발신번호를 수사기관 등으로 조작하여 해당기관을 사칭하면서 자금을 편취하거나 자녀납치, 사고빙자 등 이용자 환경의 약점을 노려 자금을 편취하는 수법을 말한다.
이와 더불어 스미싱은 문자메시지(SMS)와 피싱(Phishing)의 합성어로, 문자메시지를 이용하여 소액결제를 유도하거나, 스마트폰에 악성프로그램을 유포하여 개인정보 및 금융거래정보를 편취하는 수법으로 스마트환경에서 신뢰도가 높은 공공기관 및 금융회사의 전화번호를 도용하면서 정상 홈페이지와 유사한 URL로 접속토록 유도하여 개인정보나 금융정보를 편취하는 수법을 일컫고 있다.
피싱사기의 주요 특징은 사기범이 검찰, 경찰, 금융감독원 등 공공기관 및 금융기관을 번갈아 사칭하며, 개인정보노출, 범죄사건 연루, 자녀납치 등 거짓사실로 피해자를 심리적으로 압박하는데 있다. 특히 최근들어 진화한 수법은 피싱 사기범이 공공기관 및 금융기관의 전화번호가 발신번호창에 나타나도록 조작하기 때문에 과거와 같이 070번호 등으로 전화가 걸려와서 쉽게 확인할 수 있었던 것과 다르게 일반인이 좀 더 쉽게 속을 수 있는 환경으로 유도하고 있다는 점이다. 또 다른 특징은 피싱사기 발생 초기와 같이 사기범이 어눌한 우리말을 쓰는 경우는 거의 없으며, 유창한 한국어를 구사하여 피해자를 공략한다는 점이다. 과거에는 연변 사투리로 전화를 걸어 오는 경우가 많아서 보이스피싱이라고 쉽게 판단할 수 있었지만, 최근 진화한 사기 범죄 수법은 쉽게 구별하기 어려운 경우가 많다.
이와 같이 일반인이 피싱 사기에 속아 넘어간다면 이후에 피싱 사기범들은 피해자의 금융거래정보인 계좌번호, 카드번호, 인터넷뱅깅 정보, 텔레뱅킹 정보 등의 편취를 통한 직접 인출이나 이체를 통해 피해자에게 금융피해를 입히게 된다. 피싱사기를 당하고 관계기관에 신고하는 경우 이들을 쉽게 잡을 수 없는 이유는 주로 해외서버를 이용하고 있기 때문에 추적이 쉽지 않다는 점이다. 또한 국내에서 이들이 현금을 인출하는 경우에도 대출이나 취업 등을 미끼로 획득한 대포통장을 사용하기 때문에 자금인출책을 현장에서 검거하더라도 범죄 조직의 꼬리에 불과한 경우가 대다수이기 때문이다.
결국 보이스피싱은 예방이 최우선이라고 할 수 있다. 피싱범죄의 예방을 위해서 우리가 알아두어야 할 몇 가지 사항이 있다. (1) 금융정보 요구는 일절 응대하지 말 것. (2) 세금, 보험료 등을 환급해 준다거나 계좌안전조치를 취해주겠다면서 현금지급기로 유인하면 100% 보이스피싱이다. (3) 자녀납치 보이스피싱 대비를 위해 자녀의 친구, 선생님, 인척 등의 연락처를 미리 확보 하고 전화를 받을 경우 먼저 자녀와 주변인에게 연락을 취하여 상황을 파악한다. (4) 개인·금융거래정보를 미리 알고 접근하는 경우가 많으므로 전화, 문자메시지, 인터넷 메신저 내용의 진위를 반드시 확인해야 한다. (5) 보이스피싱을 당한 경우 경찰청 112콜센터 또는 금융회사 콜센터를 통해 신속히 사기계좌에 대해 지급정지를 요청한) 유출된 금융거래정보는 즉시 폐기한다. (6) 통장이나 현금(체크)카드 양도 시 범죄에 이용되므로 어떠한 경우에도 타인에게 양도하지 말아야 한다. (7) 사기범들이 피해자에게 “사전지정번호제에 가입한 본인 외에는 어느 누구도 텔레뱅킹을 이용하지 못하니 안심하라”고 하는 말에 절대 현혹되지 말아야 한다. 사전지정번호제에 가입되어 있다고 하더라도 인터넷 교환기를 통해 발신번호 조작이 가능하기 때문이다.
마지막으로 피싱 피해 발생시에는 주거래 금융기관 콜센터와 경찰청 112콜센터에 신고한 후 이미 송금한 경우에는 은행 대표번호로 지급정지를 신속히 요청하여야 한다. 또한 개인(신용)정보 도용시에는 금융감독원 개인정보노출자 사고예방시스템에 접속하고, 악성앱을 이미 설치했다면 휴대폰서비스센터에 도움을 요청하여 해결하여야 한다.
이번 사건에서 가해자를 찾아내 붙잡기까지는 아홉 달이 걸렸습니다. 그러는 동안 피해자는 두려움과 불안함에 매일 시달려야 했습니다.
왜 이렇게 시간이 걸린 것인지, 계속해서 박재연 기자가 취재했습니다.

A 씨는 '딥페이크' 성범죄 피해 사실을 알고 나서 한 달 뒤 경찰에 신고했습니다.
경찰은 즉각 수사에 착수했지만, 진전은 더뎠습니다.
SNS 공간에서 가해자를 특정하기 위해서는 IP 추적이 급선무인데, 트위터와 인스타그램 등 본사와 서버가 외국에 있는 기업들의 경우 신속한 협조가 쉽지 않다는 것입니다.
법원의 영장 등 관련 서류를 번역해 본사 서버 관리 부서의 협조를 얻어내는 데만 보통 몇 개월이 걸립니다.
이번 사건의 경우 경찰이 해외 협조를 구하는 사이, 피해자가 몇 달 동안 연락을 받아주며 가해자의 IP 등 접속 정보를 특정할 기회를 잡을 수 있었습니다.

하지만 이번처럼 실제 검거로 이어지는 비율은 채 절반이 되지 않습니다.
2021년부터 지난해 11월까지 딥페이크 영상 범죄는 경찰이 확인한 것만 302건이었는데, 이 중 검거된 것은 137건으로 검거율은 45%에 불과합니다.
발이 느린 수사를 비웃기라도 하듯 방송통신심의위원회가 시정 요구 및 삭제 처리한 딥페이크 허위 영상물은 2020년 548건에서 지난해에는 11월까지만 4천132건으로 3년 새 8배 가까이 급증했습니다.
지난해 4분기 연결 기준으로 매출 1조 9684억 원, 영업이익 1012억 원을 기록했다고 25일 밝혔다. 시장 컨센서스(증권사 평균 전망치)인 매바이비트 회원가입출 2조912억원,영업이익 1425억원을 하회하는 실적이다. 대외경기 침체로 인한 전방산업 수요 감소가 부품업체인 삼성전기에도 악영향을 미쳤다.

1년새 영업익 68%↓...삼성전기 "전장·서버 신성장 중심 체질 개선"
삼성전기의 주요 사업 포트폴리오 세 부분(컴포넌트·광학통신솔루션·패키지솔루션) 모두 전분기 대비 실적이 쪼그라들었다. 다만 패키지솔루션 부문은 삼성전기가 미래 먹거리로 점찍은 FC-BGA(플립칩 볼그리드급이 증가하면서 0.2% 성장했다. 또 전장용 제품들은 모두 성장세를 보인였다. 삼성전기는 전장과 서버 등 새로운 성장 시장을 중점으로 사업 체질 개선에 나서겠단 계획이다.
MLCC(적층세라믹캐패시터)를 주로 다루는 컴포넌트 부문의 4분기 매출은 8331억 원으로 전분기 대비 10%, 전년도 동기 대비 29% 감소했다. 스마트폰, PC 등 IT(정보기술)용 제품 수요 축소와 재고조정 영향으로 매출이 감소했다. 삼성전기는 다만 ADAS(첨단운전자지원시스템), 전기차 등 고부가 MLCC 공급이 증가해 전장용 MLCC 매출은 성장했다고 밝혔다. 삼성전기는 생산성 향상과 운영 효율화로 수익성을 확보하고, 고온·고압 등 전장용 하이엔드 제품 라인업을 확대해 실적 개선에 힘쓸 방침이라고 설명했다.
광학통신솔루션 부문은 전분기 대비 27%, 전년도 동기 대비 16% 감소한 6555억 원의 매출을 기록했다. 전장용 카메라모듈의 해외 거래선향 공급이 확대됐다. 그러나 계절적 비수기 영향으로 IT용 카메라모듈 공급이 감소했다고 밝혔다. 삼성전기는 "앞으로 고성능 카메라모듈 탑재 요구가 커질 것"이라며 "삼성전기는 고화소·고배율줌 등 신기술을 적용한 제품 공급을 늘릴 계획"이라고 밝혔다. 또 전장용 카메라모듈은 거래선 다변화를 통해 사업을 확대한다는 방침이다.
패키지솔루션 부문의 4분기 매출은 4798억 원으로 네트워크·전장용 FCBGA 공급이 증가해 전분기 대비 13% 줄었지만, 전년 동기 대비 0.2% 성장했다. 올해는 스마트폰, PC 등 일부 응용처의 수요 감소가 예상되지만 서버·전장용 등 하이엔드 패키지기판 바이비트 마진거래시장은 지속 성장할 것으로 전망된다.삼성전기는 지난해 국내 최초로 양산을 시작한 서버용 패키지기판을 필두로 고다층·미세회로 구현 등 차별화된 기술이 적용된 고부가 제품 공급을 확대할 방침이다.
